Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data. We are committed to being transparent and keeping your information secure.

1. Who We Are

Hourli.ME ("we," "us," or "our") operates the time tracking and invoicing application available at hourli.me. We are based in the State of Idaho, United States.

2. Information We Collect

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

2.3 Information from Third-Party Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google. We do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data.

2.4 Tax Estimation Data

If you use the Tax Assistant feature, we collect and store the following additional data within your Hourli.ME account:

This data is stored in a dedicated Firestore document separate from your time tracking sessions and archived records. Clearing, archiving, or deleting your time records does not affect this data. This data is retained for as long as your account is active and is permanently deleted when you erase your account.

Tax estimation data is used solely to power your Tax Assistant calculations. It is never sold, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or accessed by Hourli.ME personnel except as required to provide the Service or as required by law.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your business or client data with any third party except as described in this policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, located in the United States (us-central1 region). Local copies are also cached in your browser's localStorage for offline functionality.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account using the Erase Account feature, all your data — including time records, client information, profile data, and authentication credentials — is permanently deleted from our systems within 24 hours. This deletion is irreversible.

We have configured these services to minimize data sharing. Specifically: Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization enabled, and Sentry is configured to exclude email addresses from error reports.

Permanently erase your account and all associated data using the Erase Account feature.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Hourli.ME uses the following browser storage mechanisms:

You can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that doing so will remove your locally cached data and sign you out of the application.

8. Google reCAPTCHA

This Service uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to protect against bots and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA v3 operates invisibly in the background — it does not display a challenge to users. It analyzes browser behavior to generate a risk score. By using the Service, you agree to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service as they relate to reCAPTCHA.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete that information.

10. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
